Kovax Delivers ‘Heat’ Produced By Foulmouth

Written By: Sid Jones

Kovax’s new music video for Heat has been overlooked. There has been a lot happening in the music scene. Mainly, Detroit and the Midwest. Hours after Eminem released his surprise album, Kamikaze, Kovax released Heat. That truly defines the age we live in. The hip-hop mainstream just turned 2018-2019 into a draft season. This also shows just how quickly a skilled and talented MC can be quickly overshadowed. Had Eminem not released that video, Kovax may have gotten a lot more attention.

In this article, we will be discussing the importance of this Detroit artist and everything he has done. Yes, we’re talking about Kovax. As stated, there has been no shortage of music. While Eminem opened up the battlefield for all out war in hip-hop, he has also caused an artist to fall under the radar. Machine Gun Kelly’s Rap Devil only caused Kovax to being even further overlooked. That’s why we’re here. To give some shine to an artist that truly deserves it. Let’s take a look at what made the song and the video for Heat so amazing.

New School On A 90’s Beat

The song opens up with a throwback. A 90s style beat and the cinematography to match. The bright and vibrant tone of this video matches perfectly with the sound. The hip-hop of our generation is an inspiration to a lot of artists today. The chemistry Kovax orchestrated with key elements has proven to be a work of magic. By blending his trademark delivery on a well produced beat. Together, him and Foulmouth created a crisp track, along with a video that is 90’s MTV worthy. The sound of scratching records on a baseline with the hook and cut into the drops. Yes, this exists!

Michigan Is International

We have rappers claiming their cities and representing their states. However, Kovax proves once and for all that Michigan has worldwide domination. Look closely in the music video. Treyvon Martin spray painted on a wall, the t-shirts Kovax and others are holding up, and the on location establishments. Not only is Kovax celebrating Highland Park, Detroit and Downriver, he’s acknowledging the rest of the country. What some aren’t aware of is that he has joined the ranks with other Detroit artists. Artists that have gained international attention. Redd, King Gordy, and now Kovax. Not to mention that Foulmouth produced an entire mixtape for the Last American Rock Stars.

Verdict

Kovax is officially in the ranks with Redd, the Last American Rock Stars, and many other Detroit rappers. This song and video proves his worth and establishes him as a valid contender. Heat has shown that combining the supergroup concept with a working team is what gets you signed. As we said before, it’s draft season. We also knew that this would be the Summer to remember. So now, record labels are shopping. There are talent scouts prowling, watching and listening. After this video, there’s no doubt labels are feeling the Heat.
