KidCrusher Is Officially A HorrorCore Legend

KidCrusher Is Officially Dubbed A Horrorcore Legend By RoxxxTV

Written By: Sid Jones and Cherry Bass

Sid:

When I was in my early twenties, I stumbled upon KidCrusher. The first song I heard from his was Naughty List and it was the official music video. Since then, I was an instant fan. His versatility and his lyrics were the key factors in my passion for his music. As the years went on, KidCrusher continued to blow my mind and continuously outdo his previous work. It grew more heavy and more violent. For me, coherent and violent lyrics are the key to my heart. This Australian artist never ceases to amaze me. Turns out, I’m not the only one. I’m joined by a new fellow writer on this one. With that said, let’s get this ceremony going as we officially dub KidCrusher as a horrorcore legend.

The Horrorcore Grammy Goes To Kidcrusher for….

Sid:

With 12 plus albums, it’s really hard to pick just one song. Outcast is one of the many songs that stands out. Both Kidcrusher and Swizz brought out the absolute best in each other. It needs to be mentioned. If you haven’t had the chance to hear this song, you’re truly missing out. This was also my first introduction to Swizz. Which really gravitated me to some of his songs. Because it involved a feature, the argument was made by one of our newest contributors that it needs to be a song with just Kidcrusher. So I went with Naughty List. While some will disagree, it’s hard to forget your first. This was mine and this was the song that got me hooked on his music. The music video, the lyrics were absolutely amazing. Froggy Fresh even borrowed that beat for his song Halloween. It’s hard to argue with that fact. When someone uses a similar beat and uses it for a holiday, much like Kidcrusher did, it’s a fair fact. The song is also the best description of KidCrusher when you hear the song Naughty List. As an added bonus, I have offered my evidence right here:

Cherry:

I might be new to this kind of music, but I’m gonna have to disagree with Sid. Not only is my choice the best one, I think Sid just liked the women in the video. Which I think was one of his major reasons for his selection for best Kidcrusher track. I agree, the song is good. The better of the two is certainly Heavily Medicated. Heavy metal and rap fans can all appreciate how hard this song goes. It has a Slipknot feel to it and if you’re wanting violence, then look no further. I would also like to add that Sid’s pick has a lot of comical elements to it. Which I think doesn’t even come close to Heavily Medicated. Mine has a much more serious tone and has actual instruments, not just a sound board. After you watch the video Sid presented, allow me to show you mine:

The Best Kidcrusher Feature Is Without A Doubt….

Sid:

Hands down, his hook in the Bully. I was given the honor of reviewing Helter Skelter back in the day and that’s still one of my favorite Bukshot albums of all time. Kidcrusher and Bukshot are so different in style and delivery, their chemistry outshined most other features. I think this was a huge statement that proved Kidcrusher can work with anyone. Even to go off of Cherry’s statement, this song is prime. I couldn’t think of anyone else to have on the track for the hook. It’s a perfect story telling song of the high school days. Also the infamous Kidcrusher cameo in the television series Law and Order strongly supports my choice. Everyone likes a good high school shooting track. Everyone loves a good story. This song does both, thanks to the talent of Bukshot and Kidcrusher. My evidence is all you need:

Cherry:

I have to once again, disagree. I love Bukshot and I’m really looking forward to the upcoming UGA album. I just think there’s a better choice. That one for me is Trips Featuring Kidcrusher in the song, Not Normal. While I do see Sid’s point, we’ve all heard school shooting songs before. The one kind of song I have always cherished is the ones that connect with being an outsider. Someone who’s picked on and bullied, without the fantasy of revenge being played out. I would take Not Normal and put it under the same category as Afraid of Me from Twiztid. I’m a Twiztid kind of girl, I love those guys. With me, if we’re talking about talent and diversity, I think these songs are really out of the usual range of both Trips and Kidcrusher. Taking Sid’s earlier point of Outcast and using that as part of my reason for choosing Not Normal. My track I think will blow you away:

Best Kidcrusher Album Front To Back

Sid:

This one was hard. I’m not gonna lie, I struggled in making my choice. 13 hours and a few sips of Jack Daniels, I finally made my choice. The Grinch and it is proof that Kidcrusher constantly makes his second work better than the previous. I think this is old school horrorcore and this man educates the entire world on how to make metal and horror music his masterpiece. Outcast was the tie breaker between his Metal Murder Mixtape. I’m a sucker for Christmas horror, and this wasn’t just a holiday album. This was horrorcore for year round enjoyment. Swizz and Chico really connected with Kidcrusher and I feel like that set the tone and paved the road for his future music. I have to stand by The Grinch. http://victimgear.com/product/cd-kidcrusher-the-grinch/

Cherry:

Sid, I really think you hang onto that album with everything you have based on two songs. Maybe not have “A few sips of whiskey” when we’re coming together to decide on things. You talked about his progression and his milestones. Yet, you look back on 2010 like it was the Alpha and the Omega. I couldn’t help but notice you don’t mention his band. I think you’re really caught up in the horrcore and Hip-Hop. Me personally, I have to say that his best album thus far was hands down, Back To The Kidcrusher. I like movie references and I liked how this went back to his roots, as an artist and as a band. That album was one of the many works that made me fall in love with him. I never heard of him, until you brought him up. I spent days listening to his music, including his EPs. I think people need to really focus on his newer work. As do you, Sid. Bonus, it comes with  a documentary. For $15.00?! That’s a steal. You really want a glimpse into what Kidcrusher does and his story, you need this in your life. This is what makes him a legend. http://victimgear.com/product/dvd-kidcrusher-documentary-2015/

Kidcrusher Needs To Tour With Any Artist Of  Your Choosing

Sid:

Honestly, I don’t think Kidcrusher needs to tour with anyone. I think he should headline his own tour and bring one artist with him. Again, Cherry was right he’s a legend. He doesn’t need to co-headline or open up for Tech N9ne. He needs to be showing these artists the way. Especially when it comes to horrorcore music. There are so many artists out there trying to do the horror film, cliché lines and hooks. I’m rather bored by some of it and annoyed by the majority of it. There’s a difference between underground and horror rap. Eminem started off with horrorcore music. The Slim Shady EP is plenty of evidence. I think he needs to take someone under his wing and show them the craftsmanship and stage presence. I think he should work with California artist IR8. That man has been all over the UGH mixtapes and he’s got singles that are gaining popularity. I know he has a new single coming out as well. The man schooled it on the Still I Rise contest and I think he has the capability of working with anyone he wants. Kidcrusher might be the guy to show him the ropes of horrorcore music. IR8 dabbles with it a little in Ouija featuring Gorilla Voltage. I want to see him add something to his arsenal. A tour with Kidcrusher might just do the trick.

Cherry:

I like Sid’s approach. I still think he’s wrong. He’s Sid Jones, so he thinks about the future. I respect that. I think we need to do something bigger and better. Side note, I’m surprised he didn’t mention Whitney Peyton. My choice is a little more detailed. I believe the people want a Twiztid Australian Tour. So, it would only make sense for Twiztid to co-headline with Kidcrusher and then they take off on a European Tour. Fan would be satisfied, they would travel from across the world to witness this first ever worldwide event. This is more than just a tour by the way, it’s a spectacle at that point. As I mentioned, Afraid of Me is one of my favorite songs ever. These men are icons in the underground and have legendary status. I would like to see them work with a fellow legend from down under. No contest.
