Smoker Music Vol. 1 Hosted By DJ Tony Smoker
How it started…
A few months ago, I got acquainted with DJ Tony Smoker and Wil E. Haze as they stepped into Flint, Mi in March to do a Pre-Fattys Day Bash. Upon meeting them, I learned Tony himself was an underground music enthusiast and wanted to know if I had a track to add to his new mixtape coming out soon. There was no doubt about it, I was taking advantage of this opportunity.
Who is involved?
On the front cover, you can see the signs pointing in each direction and on them are the states in which represent where most of the artists are from. The mixtape includes Lunchboxxx, Michigan Misfits, Saint B, EOD Homegrown, Postman, Sly Til I Die, and myself (WOJIE) from the Great Lake State. Wil E. Haze is in California and DJ Tony Smoker is from Missouri. There he added Roswell Vil, True King Misfits, MadMax and Mobe Fresh. Out of the Sunshine State is Illest Rated and his group Starcult. Indiana artists includes Sinumatic and King Kold. Last but not least, Raw Proof coming from Tennessee.
The Listening Experience
DJ Tony Smoker has added a dope Intro to show off his scratching skills and get the listener hype for whats about to come! As the track list plays through, you will hear DJ Tony Smokers personal drops and a few clips in between. A lot of the songs are great to smoke to. Tony put a lot of thought into the track placement as he wants the listener to be able to listen from front to back with ease. Track 3 by Raw Proof is an exclusive track made just for this project and there is even a special bonus track at the end with a surprise feature!

Album art credit goes to Illest Rated, who also made the beat for the intro, and mixed in the drops throughout the tape. Ballin’ On A Budget Media pressed the hard copies and also designed the art on the disc. The YouTube video is made by Wil E. Haze and the video is attached below.
Q&A with DJ Tony Smoker
(WOJIE) Q: What inspired you to put this mixtape together?
(DJ Tony Smoker) A: “It’s a real simple answer. I did it to show off my newly acquired DJ skills and to share the music that these artists have spent their blood sweat and tears making. I feel like everyone of these artists on this mixtape and the ones to come don’t get the exposure and attention they deserve. So I said to myself, why not make this bad ass mixtape full of all these bad ass artists and print them up, take them on tour with me and give them that exposure.”
Q: Whats your favorite track on the mixtape?
A: “As difficult as it is to choose with all the great artists on the tape, I would say that my favorite song on the mixtape would be Faded by True King Misfits. It’s close between Lunchboxxxs’ track and Rozwell Vils’ track, but overall that faded track is awesome to smoke to.”
Q: Who can we look forward to hearing on Smoker Music Vol. 2?
A: “Some of the artists you can look forward to seeing on the second volume would be Illest Rated, and the homies from Starcult, Wil E. Haze, Madmax, WOJIE and Hated By Most. We will also be adding a couple more exclusive tracks on the next one too. The only place you can find it will be on that project.”
Q: Anything else you’d like to add?
A: “Then the last big shout out that I want to give out on this is to you (WOJIE) and Tiny as well, just for your guys’ continuous support, plus everything you (WOJIE) did to help me make this mixtape happen. I’m talking everything! Just you guys in general, from your web show, (Tiny and Woj Uncensored) and that you guys help push music through and everything like that because to be honest you two are the ones who inspired me to do stuff like this.”
In the end…
Of course I thanked Tony, because I had no idea until I wrote this blurb that Tiny and I was the real inspiration behind the mixtape. Honestly, that is absolutely amazing and why I continue to do what I do. 🙂 I think it is awesome how he was able to bring all the artists he was on national tour with together in on one project! Great news for the underground as we have added another person who wants to bring us all together.

How can I be involved on Vol. 2?
Anyone can submit a song, but there will be some other requirements to get on. You will need to included a shout out for the mixtape and submit a visual to go with your song. It can be a slideshow or an actual video and it will be needed for when the next mixtape gets uploaded to DJ Tony Smokers YouTube page.
